Youth of Rajasthan

Your people, Your community, by YOR

Meet The YOR Team

We at Youth of Rajasthan are a young-led organization dedicated to promoting the heritage, culture, and traditions of Rajasthan among the youth diaspora. It is the first organization of its kind on the continent to represent Rajasthan’s cultural identity for teens. Our organization engages members through educational programs, cultural events, and community service initiatives, fostering a sense of pride, belonging, and leadership within the youth community. International outreach efforts extend our impact to India, supporting charitable projects and cultural exchange.

Hey! I’m a sophomore in High School and a founder of YOR, an initiative I started to give Rajasthani youth a platform to express pride in their heritage. My goal is to build a tight-knit, supportive community where everyone feels equal and connected. When I’m not working on YOR, I’m either playing football, lifting at the gym, or working on something else.

Hi! I’m a senior at Monroe Township High School, and I joined YOR to celebrate my cultural roots and work with youth who share similar values. Through YOR, I hope to help young people connect with their heritage and uplift one another. Outside of school, you can usually find me playing hockey or reading.

Hey everyone! I’m a senior at John P. Stevens High School, and I joined YOR to help build a welcoming and positive community for fellow Rajasthanis. I hope to reduce the challenges our community faces, and in my free time, I love playing sports, especially as a member of my school’s lacrosse team.

Hey there! I'm a junior at John P. Stevens High School. I truly love Rajasthan, but unfortunately, it tends to be underrepresented. Therefore, I happily joined YOR as I saw the great potential it had to embrace and share our Rajasthani culture. One fun fact about me is that I have two long-haired chihuahuas, Mili and Max!

Hello! I am a sophomore at John P. Stevens High School, and I believe that YOR has the potential to impact so many young Rajasthanis who are unaware of our great community. So many people wonder about their culture, and I'm proud to be here, helping and supporting this idea of knowledge and learning. A fun fact about me is that I'm a Boy Scout!

Interview with Raj Media TV

In the Raj Media TV interview, the Youth of Rajasthan team discussed the personal inspiration behind the organization's founding, revealing how our lack of knowledge about Rajasthani heritage sparked the realization that even youth from active Rajasthani families were disconnected from their culture. The interview highlights our critical observation that while other Indian communities have successfully established youth-led organizations in America, the Rajasthani community was notably lagging behind in this initiative. The team emphasized their distinctive "YOR people, YOR community" branding approach and shared how direct exposure to Rajasthani food, customs, and cultural practices through ROAR events created a transformative, eye-opening experience that motivated us to ensure other young Rajasthanis wouldn't miss out on discovering their heritage.
