One of the hardest parts about working full time and trying to take care of the needs of your family is juggling all of the things that need to be done. There’s laundry to wash, groceries to buy, school assignments to keep on top of, bills to pay, checkbooks to balance, yards to clean up, and the list goes on. Another daily project is figuring out what to feed everyone and making sure all are eating well. It is no easy task, even when you’re not holding down a day job at the same time. And if you’re lucky, you don’t have a bunch of picky eaters to please. One of my favorite dishes to make is a casserole. The beauty of a good casserole is that you can add healthy ingredients into it without your kids noticing. I just layer it with other favorite ingredients, toss it into a good ceramic set of bakeware and put it into the oven for an easy meal.

I love using my beautiful bakeware set for everything! I use if for cooking meals, side dishes, and desserts. What’s wonderful about this type of bakeware is that you can use it in the oven and the microwave, plus you can use it for food storage too. The perfect bakeware!

I was recently sorting through some of my kitchen cabinets trying to decide which pieces of cookware and bakeware to keep and which items needed to be replaced. I had quite a few good pots and pans that I had purchased in the couple of years that were in excellent shape, so those were a no-brainer. Then I took a look at some of my glass and ceramic pieces and realized I no longer had a complete set. So when my husband asked me what I wanted for a Mother’s Day gift, I knew my answer immediately. I need a set of ceramic bakeware like these colorful ceramic casserole dishes.

I love the color choices offered in this ceramic bakeware set. While all of the colors are lovely, I’m particularly fond of the beautiful blue color in this 3 piece set. The best feature of ceramic baking dishes is their versatility. Not only can you cook your meals in them, but you can serve in them too and then just store the leftovers inside them for another night. Plus they’re freezer-safe and dishwasher-safe too for easy clean-up. This ceramic set is sure to be one of my most well-used and well-loved Mother’s Day gifts.

Have you taken a look at your kitchenware lately? I have and some of it isn’t very pretty. I was baking a large batch of cupcakes this weekend and couldn’t find my stainless mixing bowl anywhere. Unfortunately the glass bowl I used to use had broken some time ago, so I ended up having to use one of my large plastic food storage containers to mix my batter in. Once I was done with my baking I took a good look through my cabinets and made a list of some items I’d like to own or items I’d like to replace. On the top of my list was a new set of mixing bowls. I think I’m going to get something really nice, like these beautiful Stoneware Mixing Bowls from Reco.

These versatile mixing bowls can be used for food preparation and for serving too. They’re made of high quality stoneware and are oven, microwave, dishwasher, and freezer safe. They come as a set of 3 good-sized bowls and I can choose from 5 different colors. I think I’ll be buying the cobalt blue ones since they’ll look great in my kitchen. I can wait to treat myself to a brand new mixing bowl set.

Each year around this time, I buy five or six large pumpkins and turn them into pumpkin soup. Since it’s after Halloween, I can get these yummy large veggies very cheap. Here is my favorite pumpkin soup recipe. It is fast and easy to make and freezes well. I make up one pot for us to eat right away and another to freeze until Christmas. Makes for a nice lunch or first course of our big Christmas meal. Any leftovers are refrozen in portion sized containers and use for lunches over the coming weeks and months.

I just love holiday recipes that I can make ahead of time and then just head and serve on the big day. It makes things so much easier and I have more time to enjoy my family. A soup like this is one great way to feed my family a delicious and healthy meal without having to spend hours upon hours in the kitchen. Another great strategy is to have everyone in your family contribute a dish to the holiday meal. That way all you have to do is make a turkey or ham and you’re done.

For years I had been using my grandmother’s old hand mixer in my kitchen. It was not very powerful, but it was better than using a whisk for the thicker mixers or for batters that need more whipping done. But given it’s age and it’s small motor, it’s a pretty comical kitchen tool in this modern age. Well after many years of service my little mixer finally quit on me. Who could blame it? I asked it to do far more than it was built for! So the time had come for me to finally buy my own mixer. After a lot of research I decided what I really needed was a versatile stand mixer and after reading reviews, I decided to purchase the DeLonghi Stand Mixer.

I am so crazy about this mixer. I now look for any excuse to bake something! Cupcakes for school, pancakes for breakfast, a birthday cake for Mom. This stand mixer is beautiful. And powerful, it has a heavy-duty 1000-watt motor – no batter is too thick for me now. The DeLonghi comes with a big 7 quart stainless bowl and 3 large mixing tools, plus it’s covered by a 10 year manufacturers warranty, which is very comforting to me. When it comes to kitchen mixers, the Delonghi Stand Mixer really does it all!
